Keith Urban has a message for his and Nicole Kidman’s daughter Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban in the wake of her runway debut.
After the 16-year-old’s turn on the catwalk as a model in the Miu Miu show for Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 1, the “Days Go By” singer shared how he thought his eldest did during her major outing.
“Very good,” Urban exclusively told E! News. “At the end of the day anything that any of us choose to do involves an enormous amount of work. So go get in the trenches and start paying the dues as well.”
The “Heart Like a Hometown” singer knows a thing or two about putting in the work. At 56 he’s headlining his third Las Vegas show, Keith Urban’s HIGH in Vegas at the Bleaulive Theater at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
“We'll be playing a lot of songs off the new album scattered throughout the set,” the Grammy winner shared. “What I love to do is come with a certain structure and then enormous amounts of spontaneity and free-flowing threaded throughout it.” (For more from Keith’s interview, tune into E! News tonight, Oct. 8, at 11 p.m.)
As he promotes his new album High, Urban—who also shares daughter Faith Margaret Kidman-Urban with Kidman—recalled his first career high.
"Definitely the first time I heard my song on the radio,” he noted, sharing that the song was titled “Home Fires.” “I was staying at a hotel and I was getting ready for my show that night playing some tiny little places. But I had a little regional single out at the time, and it came on that little crappy bolted-down radio, and I still remember it like it was yesterday.”
And much like remembering that career moment, perhaps his teen will one day feel similarly about her major debut. Just a few months before Sunday took the catwalk by storm, Kidman noted that this year also marked her daughter’s first runway show as an attendee.
“She’s about to turn 16,” the Oscar winner told Vogue Australia in an interview published Aug. 2. “That’s what I told her, when she was 16 she was allowed to come to a show. She’s wanted to go for a long time. That was her foray into it, and that was it. I’m like no, no more.”
